Lufthansa Group reported record third-quarter revenue of €12.2 billion in 2026, up 9% year-on-year, while adjusted operating profit rose 6% to €1.4 billion. Strong demand and cost controls offset an additional €543 million in fuel costs, although the adjusted operating margin slipped to 11.5%.
Brussels Airlines, SWISS and Austrian Airlines improved their quarterly results. However, combined network airline adjusted operating profit fell by €108 million to €853 million, with Lufthansa Airlines affected by higher fuel costs and approximately €65 million in strike-related costs. Group chief executive Carsten Spohr said the core airline’s financial turnaround must accelerate.
Cargo and maintenance provided substantial support: Lufthansa Cargo’s adjusted operating profit more than tripled to €162 million, while Lufthansa Technik increased its result by 54% to €200 million. The point-to-point airlines segment earned €214 million, up €16 million.
The group refined its full-year adjusted operating profit forecast to €1.7–2.0 billion, with its fuel bill expected to reach €9.3 billion. Fourth-quarter demand, fuel costs and cargo performance will determine the final outcome.
