The Lufthansa Group has announced an extension of its suspension of night flight operations to and from Tel Aviv’s Ben Gurion Airport, with the measure now remaining in place until February 3, citing ongoing security concerns related to the situation in the Middle East.

The airline group, which includes Lufthansa, SWISS, Austrian Airlines, Brussels Airlines, and Eurowings, previously decided to operate all Tel Aviv services exclusively during daytime hours between January 15 and January 31. This operational change was introduced as a precaution amid rising regional tensions and potential security risks.

Under the current arrangement, Lufthansa Group flight crews will no longer stay overnight in Israel, reducing operational exposure during nighttime hours.

To minimise disruption for travellers, the group confirmed that several cancelled night services are being rescheduled to daytime slots where possible, allowing passengers to maintain connectivity between Tel Aviv and key European hubs.

The Lufthansa Group said it continues to closely monitor the situation and will adjust its flight schedules as necessary in line with safety assessments and operational requirements.
