Share

Max Kownatzki has officially taken over as CEO of Eurowings on 2 February 2026, succeeding Jens Bischof.

Formerly CEO of SunExpress, Kownatzki led the airline through the COVID crisis, doubled its fleet to more than 85 aircraft, and delivered record financial results. A familiar figure at Eurowings, where he previously held senior leadership roles, he now assumes leadership of Germany’s largest leisure airline, aiming to build on its strong customer proposition and sustainable profitability.
