The Airbus A340 (reg. D-AIGY) flew from Rome to Frankfurt freshly painted in Eurowings colours on 13 January 2018. This plane flew its last revenue flight for Lufthansa on 30 June from Montreal to Frankfurt (LH479), then flew on 4 July to Luqa, Malta (MLA), for storage. It flew back to Frankfurt on 7 October 2017 and on 27 December 2017 to Rome (FCO) for a paint job.
This plane and another A340 are operated by Brussels Airlines crew and will be based in Dusseldorf (DUS). It will fly to Cancún (begins 30 April 2018), Fort Myers (begins 3 May 2018), Miami (begins 4 May 2018), New York JFK (begins 28 April 2018) and Punta Cana (begins 28 April 2018).
