• Eurowings CEO Beissel “We’re continuing on our course as Europe’s fastest growing airline.”

Eurowings and trade union Verdi have reached a collective agreement for ‘growth’. A week ago, Eurowings concluded a collective agreement for growth with cabin crew union UFO. Verdi and UFO are the stakeholders of cabin crew staff at Eurowings.

Eurowings CEO Georg Beissel said, “We are delighted with this conclusion – with the backing of both unions we have established all the requirements for hiring new cabin crew staff at short notice. Eurowings can continue on its course as Europe’s fastest growing airline.” The airline had recently advertised around 600 vacancies for new crew members at Eurowings, in the meantime it has received more than a thousand applications and has begun setting up appropriate job interviews. Benedikt Schneider, Head of HR and Eurowings Lead Negotiator, stressed that applicants’ previous experience would be taken into account, as agreed with UFO and Verdi. “We will offer fair and competitive pay conditions.”

There are also plans to hold talks on Wednesday with the pilots’ union ‘Vereinigung Cockpit’ regarding a collective agreement for growth for the Eurowings cockpit staff. The aim here too is to hire new captains and co-pilots in good time, taking the previous experience of individual applicants into account.
