Luftfahrtgesellschaft Walter (LGW) will move from Eurowings to Zeitfracht Group on 1 April. The corresponding contract was signed in Berlin today.
The move also marks the beginning of a longer-term cooperation between LGW and Eurowings through a wet-lease agreement. This means that LGW’s contribution to the Eurowings route network will remain in place unchanged. For Eurowings, the LGW transfer is also an important step toward a uniform Airbus A320 fleet structure for its short- and medium-haul operations.
“The move to Zeitfracht Group strengthens the future viability of LGW,” says Eurowings Managing Director and COO Michael Knitter. “We are pleased that, thanks to the wet-lease, LGW with its professionalism, expertise and passion will continue to fly for us and our customers.”
The transfer to Zeitfracht Group will not involve any changes for the employees of LGW, their contracts remain in place unaltered.
“We look forward to welcoming LGW and its employees on board very soon,” says Simon-Schröter, General Manager of Zeitfracht Group. “LGW is a perfect match for our strategy of strengthening the aviation segment – we want to expand its fleet in the medium term with additional aircraft acquisitions.”
