Fast and flexible luggage check-in with self-bag drop
Ten self-bag drop kiosks have been operating in Terminal 1 of Hamburg Airport since November 2017, launching Hamburg Airport as a next-generation airport. Four stations were also set up for automated check-in. Thanks to state-of-the-art, fully automated luggage check-in, passengers gain even more independence and flexibility when departing. This allows passengers to check in their luggage regardless of the desk opening times, usually up to 40 minutes before the scheduled departure time.
The self-bag drop option frequently helps to avoid waiting times as well. Operating the kiosks is straightforward and self-explanatory and staff are also on hand at all times to provide assistance and personal support where necessary.
