Eurowings is expanding its “Sneaker Airline” concept by allowing cabin crew to wear branded white sneakers as part of their uniform on all operating days, rather than only on Fridays under the previous “Sneaker Flydays” initiative.
The Lufthansa Group carrier said the move responds to strong employee demand for greater comfort during daily operations while reinforcing the airline’s modern and relaxed brand image.
According to the airline, the sneaker concept has received consistently positive feedback from both staff and passengers, with customers frequently commenting favourably on the look through social media and customer surveys.
Eurowings CEO Max Kownatzki said the initiative reflects the airline’s ambition to position itself as a modern European “value airline” distinct from traditional low-cost competitors. He added that sneakers combine professionalism, comfort and ease in a way that aligns with both business and leisure travel expectations.
The airline believes the updated uniform style supports its broader brand promise of offering “more ease for everyone” while giving crews a more contemporary and comfortable appearance both on board and at airports.
