From December through mid-April, the leisure carrier will operate up to two weekly flights on Thursdays and Sundays. The route expands Discover Airlines’ growing northern Europe network as demand surges for winter and Arctic travel.
Located in Norway’s Finnmark province, Alta is known as the “City of the Northern Lights,” offering prime viewing conditions for the Aurora Borealis from autumn through early spring. The region also serves as a hub for Arctic activities, including dog sledding, ski expeditions, igloo-hotel stays, whale watching, and ice fishing.
Alta becomes Discover Airlines’ third destination in Norway and its fifth in northern Europe. The carrier already serves Evenes, Kittilä, and Reykjavík year-round, with seasonal flights to Bodø from Munich. A new summer service to Ålesund from Frankfurt is scheduled to begin in May 2026.
Flights are available via Discover Airlines, Lufthansa, and travel agency channels.
