At Brussels Airport, a passenger mistakenly boarded the wrong plane on Monday evening, ending up on a Brussels Airlines flight to Munich despite holding a ticket for a different destination.
The airline confirmed the incident, attributing it to a language barrier— the passenger spoke little English and did not understand Dutch or French, likely causing him to go to the wrong gate.
The error was discovered when he sat in a seat already assigned to another passenger. He was promptly removed from the aircraft, which then underwent a full security check as a precaution. He was later escorted to the correct flight.
While the situation ended without incident, the Munich-bound flight was delayed by 20 minutes.
