Unions at Brussels Airlines have filed a strike notice following the dismissal of three flight attendants who refused to board a flight to Ghana over concerns about potential pests — reportedly fleas or bedbugs — on the aircraft.
According to ,BBTK/SETCa representative Olivier Van Camp, the crew members’ dismissal prompted immediate union backlash, with both ACV Puls/CNE joining the protest. The unions had given management until Monday noon to reverse the decision, but received no response.
Brussels Airlines management maintains the pest report was a false alarm. A preliminary union action took place on Saturday without disrupting passengers, but with no resolution reached, unions have now formally filed for strike action demanding the reinstatement of the dismissed staff.
