After the first day of the Brussels Airlines pilots strike last Monday, a new meeting between unions and management is expected at 10:00 am (UTC+2). Already at 08:00 am this Wednesday morning, the pilots were waiting outside the Brussels Airlines headquarters, but the unions only expect an agreement before tonight.
The Brussels Airlines pilots are protesting against the deterioration of their working conditions and are claiming better pensions. And for this second day of strike, some of the cabin crew members also joined the movement.
As a result, 280 flights -or 75% of flights- were canceled, affecting 29,000 passengers. A list of flights that do operate, mostly flights carried out by CityJet (SSJ100), bmi Regional (E145) and ASL Airlines France (B737-700). On some destinations where it was very difficult to find alternatives, the airline managed to find a crew to operate on Airbus A319/A320/A330.
