Brussels Airlines is set to bring high-speed Wi-Fi connectivity to its fleet, benefiting from a Lufthansa Group agreement with Starlink. The rollout begins in 2026, with Airbus A320 aircraft on short-haul routes receiving Wi-Fi first, followed by the long-haul fleet.
The initiative is part of the Lufthansa Group’s plan to equip its around 850 aircraft with broadband internet, offering speeds comparable to ground connections. The system enables streaming, cloud-based work, and other high-bandwidth applications during flights.
Dieter Vranckx, Chief Commercial Officer of Lufthansa Group, said: “Connectivity on board plays an important role today. With Starlink, we are investing in the best product on the market and in the satisfaction of our passengers.”
The new service will be free for status customers and Travel ID users across all travel classes, making Lufthansa Group the largest airline group in Europe to equip aircraft with Starlink technology.
Brussels Airlines joins the initiative as part of the group’s broader investments in fleet modernization, premium products, and enhanced passenger experience.
