Brussels Airlines pilots have strengthened their ad hoc actions since today (1 February) to protest against the lack of progress on issues such as pensions or flight times. Ten days ago the pilots decided to take off with a delay of 15 to 20 minutes. From today the pilots will ask full runway length at Brussels Airport, will taxi more slowly towards gate/runway and will take additional fuel in order to land with at least 5 tonnes of kerosene at Brussels Airport.

The actions come from the pilots themselves but are covered by the three unions,” explained Paul Buekenhout (LBC / CNE) and Filip Lemberechts (CGSLB / ACLVB).

According to the latter, in addition to pension and flight times, the integration of the Thomas Cook Airlines Belgium pilots and the Eurowings issue (for which Brussels Airlines will operate long-haul flights from Düsseldorf) are still on the table.
