On Monday 14 January 2019, Brussels Airlines organised a remarkable aviation event. For the first time ever, the Belgian airline lined up all of its five Belgian Icons at Brussels Airport for a unique family portrait.
Exactly one week earlier, on Monday 7 January 2019, the airline had posted a photo contest on its Facebook page. Everyone who was interested to join the event, could post one photo of any of the five Belgian Icon aircraft. The five aircraft are:
Aircraft Type | Registration | Name | Livery |
Airbus A320-214 | OO-SNA | Trident | Red Devils livery |
Airbus A320-214 | OO-SNB | Rackham | Tintin livery |
Airbus A320-214 | OO-SNC | Magritte | Magritte livery |
Airbus A320-214 | OO-SND | Aerosmurf | Smurfs livery |
Airbus A320-214 | OO-SNF | Amare | Tomorrowland livery |
Two days later a jury, consisting of Brussels Airlines employees, made a selection of the ten most beautiful pictures and all of the ten photographers were contacted and kindly invited to join this once-in-a-lifetime photo opportunity.
Here are some photos of this unique line-up of all five Belgian Icons aircraft.
