On 6 July, Brussels Airlines will operate a one-off Airbus A319 to Stockholm Bromma. On 4 June last year, Cityjet Sukhoi Superjets replaced the Brussels Airlines Avro RJ100’s on the important route.

This test flight will gather enough information to keep on operating to the small downtown airport, hence with bigger equipment. Brussels Airlines will probably want to make this decision quickly, since the reliability of the Superjets leaves something to be desired. The landing and take-off, however, will be a challenge because the runway is only 1,668 meters long.

It is an open secret that the Swedish third-busiest airport is an important destination for the Belgian airline: Stockholm Bromma is very close to the city compared to the much bigger Stockholm Arlanda, where main competitor Scandinavian SAS is operating to/from Brussels Airport.
