Luc Coene (°1947) started his career in 1973 at the National Bank of Belgium. During his rich career he also worked for IMF, the European Commission and he was active in Belgian politics as a senator, a Cabinet Secretary and Secretary to the Council of Ministers. In 2003, the year he became he became Minister of State for his merits, he returned to the National Bank of Belgium, first as Deputy Governor, and in 2011 as Governor. He has since been a member of the Supervisory Board of the Single Supervisory Mechanism of the European Central Bank. Luc Coene also holds several other mandates, including Vice-Chairman of the Executive Board of the Théatre Royal de la Monnaie.
During the board meeting of 23 April, he was nominated and elected new board member of SN Airholding. The board co-opted Lus Coene also as member of the Strategic Committee and the Audit Committee.
