Brussels Airlines to axe Birmingham route this October, ending only direct link

Share

Confirming information published in our forum, Brussels Airlines has stated it will discontinue its Brussels-Birmingham route in October 2025, marking the end of the only direct air connection between the two cities.

The airline, which currently operates six flights per week, announced the decision earlier this month, citing strategic route adjustments. The cancellation will leave Birmingham without a direct service to the Belgian capital, a key hub for EU institutions and international business.

The final flight is scheduled for 24 October 2025.

The move is likely to disappoint business and leisure travellers who rely on the route for quick access to mainland Europe. No alternative direct services have been announced, raising concerns about reduced connectivity from one of the UK’s major regional airports.
