Brussels Airlines flight SN2294 from Stockholm Arlanda to Brussels (Airbus A319 with registration OO-SSV) was abruptly cancelled on Monday after a dramatic aborted takeoff due to an unresolved technical issue.
Passengers had already faced a two-hour delay before boarding when a warning light initially triggered concern. Despite a technician clearing the aircraft for departure, the same warning reappeared as the plane accelerated down the runway, prompting the pilot to perform a sudden emergency stop.
Passenger Peter Erikson described the scene as chaotic and distressing, with some passengers crying and many left confused after disembarking. He criticised the lack of communication and crisis response from airport and airline staff.
Brussels Airlines confirmed the cancellation, stating that the aircraft will undergo a thorough investigation and that affected passengers are entitled to rebooking and accommodation. Erikson, originally bound for Marseille, was rebooked with another airline after Brussels Airlines was unable to provide a timely alternative.
