Brussels Airlines is facing a strike threat after trade union ACV Puls filed a strike notice over the airline’s decision to assign crew members to Tel Aviv flights through the normal rostering system.
The airline resumed flights to Tel Aviv this summer, initially operating the services with volunteers. Brussels Airlines now says the operation has been successfully re-established and that it can return to its standard crew scheduling procedures.
ACV Puls disagrees, citing continued security concerns and the Belgian authorities’ advice against non-essential travel to Israel. The union says employees should be able to refuse assignments to Tel Aviv under the current circumstances.
The strike notice takes effect on 1 September 2026. According to ACV Puls, any potential industrial action would be limited to Brussels Airlines flights to and from Tel Aviv.
Brussels Airlines maintains that safety remains its highest priority and says it continues to closely monitor the situation in cooperation with the other Lufthansa Group airlines. The carrier says procedures can be adjusted at any time if the security situation requires it.
No specific strike dates have been announced at this stage.
