Brussels Airlines is expanding its winter leisure network with scheduled services to Evenes in Norway and Kemi and Kittilä in Finland, responding to growing demand for winter holidays in the Arctic region.
The three destinations, previously served primarily through charter operations in cooperation with tour operators, will now also be available as regular scheduled flights from Brussels.
Kittilä, in Finnish Lapland, will receive the most extensive service, with three weekly flights from 10 December 2026 until 27 March 2027. Kemi will be served up to twice weekly between 25 December and 10 March, while Evenes in northern Norway will receive a weekly service during February and March.
The new routes target growing interest in Arctic winter tourism, including Northern Lights trips, winter sports and outdoor activities in Lapland and northern Norway.
Brussels Airlines says the expansion also forms part of its strategy to reduce the seasonality of its business. European aviation demand traditionally peaks during the summer, leaving airlines with excess capacity during the quieter winter months.
The Belgian carrier has therefore been developing a broader winter leisure network. Since winter 2024, it has served four destinations in the Canary Islands, including Fuerteventura, while Funchal in Madeira has also been added for its year-round leisure appeal.
The addition of the Nordic destinations further diversifies the airline’s winter offering and allows aircraft capacity to be deployed towards markets experiencing strong seasonal demand during the colder months.
Tickets for Evenes, Kemi and Kittilä are now on sale through Brussels Airlines and travel agencies.
