Brussels Airlines has announced that Glenn Verhasselt, the acclaimed chef of two-Michelin-star restaurant Sir Kwinten in Lennik, will become its new Star Chef from January 2026. Business Class passengers on long-haul flights will be served exclusive menus created in collaboration with Verhasselt and his team.
Known for refined, seasonal Belgian cuisine with a creative edge, Verhasselt is one of Belgium’s top culinary talents, having held titles such as Young Top Chef of Flanders (2020) and Gault&Millau’s Chef of the Year 2025. He also recently became Provost of the Chefs at the Gastronomic Club Prosper Montagné.
Brussels Airlines says the partnership reinforces its mission to bring “the best of Belgium” to the skies. Verhasselt’s menu will feature rotating starters, mains and desserts every three months, blending Belgian classics with modern techniques and adapted for in-flight conditions.
The experience is complemented by award-winning wine selections by Master of Wine Jan De Clercq, Belgian beer choices curated by Sofie Vanrafelghem, and cheeses from Van Tricht.
This collaboration continues Brussels Airlines’ Star Chef programme, launched in 2013, which brings Belgian haute cuisine to Business Class passengers on intercontinental routes.
