Brussels Airlines abandons routes to Kiev Boryspil and Nantes Atlantique in November

As already announced since yesterday in our forum (a good source of inspiration!), Brussels Airlines stops flying to Nantes and Kiev. The airline is citing “optimisation of the network”. This appears to be the first operational consequence of the “Reboot” plan aimed at increasing the meagre profits of the airline.

Flights to and from Kiev Boryspil will be carried out for the last time on 17 November by the normally scheduled Airbus A319. However, Brussels Airlines will continue codesharing on the 8 weekly flights by Ukraine International Airlines.

For Nantes, the last twice-daily flights will be operated on 23 November 2019, by the usual CityJet CRJ-900 aircraft. Since the bankruptcy of flybmi, Brussels Airlines no longer has a subcontractor with small aircraft that would probably better fit a thin route.
