On Sunday (4 November), the weather radar of a Brussels Airlines Airbus A320 (OO-SNC) broke down at Tel Aviv Airport. The airline was forced to postpone the flight back to Brussels to the next day. On Monday evening, however, the problem couldn’t get fixed. 30 hours after the original flight, around 140 passengers are still waiting to get back to Belgium.
Brussels Airlines spokeswoman Wencke Lemmens regrets the long delay: “Unfortunately, the repair is taking longer than expected. We expected to leave on Monday but that wasn’t the case. Brussels Airlines is doing everything possible to find a solution for the stranded passengers (like rebooking on other airlines), meanwhile we provide accommodation for the stranded passengers.”
