More than 800,000 passengers flew with Austrian Airlines in February (+8.0%)

• February 2019: 8.0 percent increase in passenger volume year-on-year
• January and February 2019: approx. 1.6 million passengers, up 7.5 percent
• Capacity utilisation stable at 70.9 percent since the beginning of the year

More than 800,000 passengers flew with Austrian Airlines in February 2019, comprising an increase of 8.0 percent from the prior-year month. European flight traffic continued to be strong, showing a 6.8 percent rise in passenger volume. The flight offering measured in available seat kilometres (ASK) was up 11.6 percent, and revenue passenger kilometres (RPK) climbed 10.0 percent. Capacity utilisation (passenger load factor) of the flights equalled 71.6 percent on average in February 2019, a drop of 1.1 percentage points compared to the previous year. The number of flights operated by Austrian Airlines was increased by 5.2 percent to a total of 8,740.

Austrian Airlines transported about 1.6 million passengers in the months of January and February 2019, comprising a rise of 7.5 percent from the previous year. The flight offering measured in available seat kilometres was up 9.8 percent, and revenue passenger kilometres climbed 9.4 percent compared to the first two months of 2018. Capacity utilisation of the flights remained stable at 70.9 percent, a slight decline of 0.3 percentage points. The number of flights operated by Austrian Airlines was up 4.8 percent to 17,828 in the months of January and February 2019.
