Austrian Airlines summer flight schedule 2017: more flights to Greece and Italy

Austrian Airlines is offering its passengers an extensive range of flights to 135 destinations in 54 countries in the summer of 2017. The Austrian flag carrier is focusing on tourist destinations in its summer flight schedule and is expanding its European flight offering to Greece and Italy by 15 additional flights per week. The airline is also expanding its North American portfolio in the summer of 2017. It will operate up to six direct weekly flights from Vienna to Los Angeles. Austria’s national carrier will also fly more frequently to destinations in the Middle East and Africa. 17 flights will be operated each week to Tel Aviv, a plus of three flights per week. Four additional flights will be offered to Cairo, or up to eleven direct flights from Vienna each week. The Austrian Airlines summer flight schedule takes effect on March 26, 2017.

More flights to Italy and Greece
Starting in the summer, Austrian Airlines will increase frequencies to Rhodes, Heraklion, Zakynthos, Chania, Athens and Kos in response to stronger demand. Twelve more flights will be offered each week compared to the summer of 2016, thus adding up to a total of 49 weekly flights to 17 destinations in Greece. Italy remains a popular vacation destination for people in Austria. As a result, the number of flights to Catania and Milan will be increased. On balance, with three additional flights each week, Austrian Airlines will fly 99 times per week to eleven destinations in Italy.

Eastern European specialist
Austrian Airlines remains the market leader for Eastern European destinations among all Western European airlines operating from one hub. Austria’s natural carrier will fly to 38 destinations in the region in the coming summer. This includes four Ukrainian destinations i.e. Kiev, Dnipro, Lviv and Odessa. Three additional flights will be offered to both Lviv and Odessa, thus up to ten direct flights each week from Vienna. One additional weekly flight will be offered to Skopje in Macedonia in the summer of 2017, comprising a total of thirteen weekly flights in the upcoming summer.
Three destinations will be served in Russia, namely Moscow, St. Petersburg and Krasnodar. Austrian Airlines will offer flight service this summer to Bucharest, Iasi and Sibiu. Moreover, it will also operate flights to Cluj in cooperation with its codeshare partner Tarom. Accordingly, the Austrian Airlines flight offering to Romania encompasses four destinations.

North America portfolio
Finally, the time has come. On April 10, 2016, Austria’s national carrier will fly to Los Angeles and thus expand its flight portfolio to North America by an additional destination. All in all, the airline will operate up to 43 direct flights each week from Vienna to seven North American destinations. This encompasses up to four weekly flights to Miami, up to six times per week to Los Angeles and Toronto, and up to one daily flight to Washington and Chicago. Moreover, Austrian Airlines will operate a total of thirteen weekly flights to Newark Airport and JFK in New York.

Lufthansa Group
The airlines in the Lufthansa Group will offer a total of 23,476 weekly flights in the upcoming summer 2017 flight schedule. The Lufthansa Group airlines will connect 308 destinations in 103 countries via its flight hubs in Frankfurt, Munich, Zurich, Vienna and Brussels as well as many point-to-point routes. In addition, more than 18,000 codeshare flights with about 30 partner airlines will complement the respective flight offering and offer travellers a network spanning almost the entire world.
