Austrian Airlines launches seasonal “Dubai Deal” trial with low-fare A320neo flights

Share

Austrian Airlines will test a new Vienna–Dubai service from 1 December 2025 to March 2026, offering five weekly flights on its A320neo fleet with round-trip fares from EUR 314.

The route is designed as a low-cost winter experiment, using medium-haul aircraft that would otherwise be idle. Passengers can choose from Economy Light (EUR 314), Economy Classic (EUR 374), or European Business Class (EUR 699).

While the A320neo won’t feature long-haul amenities like in-flight entertainment, Austrian promises affordable fares, catering via Austrian Melangerie, and smart extras.

CEO Annette Mann said the initiative is a bold step to attract price-conscious travelers during peak holiday season, competing against strong Gulf carriers while making use of excess winter capacity.

The trial’s continuation beyond March 2026 will depend on its success. Alongside Dubai, Austrian is also expanding winter long-haul capacity to Malé, Mauritius, and Bangkok.
