Austrian Airlines will again be cooperating with Adria Airways in 2019. As of March 31, the Slovenian Adria will support Austrian with two Canadair CRJ 900 jets including cockpit and cabin crew. This will relieve the pressure on Austrian Airlines Operations, especially in the high season, and create more flexibility in flight planning. The Canadair CRJ 900 offers space for 86 passengers and thus has a slightly larger seating capacity than the Bombardier Q400. The aircraft will be deployed within Austrian Airlines’ route network to destinations such as Warsaw, Belgrade and Košice. Passengers will receive the usual DO & CO service on board.
Adria Airways has its home airport near Ljubljana, the capital of Slovenia. The Slovenian home carrier is a member of the Star Alliance and has been a reliable partner for many years. Adria Airways connects Slovenia with numerous European cities and offers many connections to Southeastern Europe.
Note: Adria Airways was also a candidate to wet-lease its CRJ900 aircraft to Brussels Airlines. In this case, CityJet got the contract.
