LOT Polish Airlines is bidding farewell to its Embraer E170 fleet on 30 October 2026, with its final aircraft, SP-LDH, scheduled to operate a last Warsaw–Vienna–Warsaw passenger rotation. The route mirrors the type’s commercial debut with LOT on 17 March 2004, when the Polish carrier became the world’s first E170 operator.
According to LOT, the 10 E170s it operated carried 13.8 million passengers on nearly 300,000 flights, accumulating more than 455,000 flight hours and covering over 230 million kilometres. Configured with 70 to 76 seats in a two-by-two layout, the aircraft served domestic and European routes, including Prague, Copenhagen and Budapest.
The first aircraft, SP-LDA, arrived in Warsaw on 8 March 2004 and remained with LOT until 2014. The E170 introduced winglets and fully electronic fly-by-wire flight controls to the airline’s fleet.
The retirement ends LOT’s operation of the smallest E-Jet variant, but its Embraer fleet continues to include E175s, E190s, E195s and E195-E2s.
