LOT Polish Airlines expands 737 MAX fleet with simultaneous arrival of three new aircraft with Poland-inspired cabins

LOT Polish Airlines has taken delivery of three new Boeing 737 MAX 8 aircraft, which arrived at Warsaw Chopin Airport on January 22–23 following a high-profile ferry flight from Seattle. The jets, registered SP-LYB, SP-LYD and SP-LYE, departed Boeing Field on January 21, made a technical stop in Keflavik, Iceland, and completed the final leg to Poland later the same day.

For part of the transatlantic journey, the aircraft were flown in close formation, an unusual delivery method that attracted significant attention and was deliberately highlighted by the airline and Warsaw Airport.

With these arrivals, LOT now operates 23 Boeing 737 MAX 8s, further strengthening the backbone of its short- and medium-haul European network from its Warsaw hub. The newly delivered aircraft are equipped with LOT’s recently unveiled cabin interior, inspired by Polish landscapes, including references to the Tatra Mountains, and featuring a colour palette of deep blues and warm amber tones. The design concept aligns with the carrier’s broader brand identity across cabins and lounges.

The new interior was developed by UK-based design agency Tangerine, with seats manufactured in Poland by Recaro. The first aircraft featuring the updated cabin entered service in early January 2026, shortly before the delivery of the three latest jets. LOT is still awaiting the delivery of a further seven Boeing 737-8 aircraft as part of its ongoing fleet modernisation programme.
