LOT Polish Airlines has announced a new direct route connecting Warsaw and Bologna, set to launch on 31 March 2026. The historic and culinary capital of Italy’s Emilia-Romagna region becomes LOT’s fourth Italian destination, joining Rome, Milan, and Venice.
The route will operate six times weekly using Boeing 737 MAX 8 aircraft:
“With LOT’s expanding fleet, we can continue growing our route network in line with our passengers’ preferences, and Italy has remained one of Poland’s favourite destinations for years,” said Robert Ludera, Director of LOT’s Network Bureau.
Bologna, home to Europe’s oldest university (founded in 1088), is celebrated for its academic legacy, terracotta skyline, and world-renowned cuisine. Its porticoes — stretching nearly 40 kilometres and listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site — define the city’s warm, distinctive character.
Located at the crossroads of Italy’s high-speed rail network, Bologna offers fast access to major destinations: Florence (35 min), Milan (under 1 hour), Rome (2 hours), and the Adriatic coast in under two hours.
