LOT Polish Airlines has announced the launch of direct, year-round flights from Warsaw to Malaga, set to begin on 15 January 2026. As part of the airline’s 2024–2028 strategic expansion, Malaga becomes LOT’s third permanent Spanish destination, joining Madrid and Barcelona.
The service will initially operate four times weekly during the winter season, increasing to six weekly flights from late February. Flights will depart Warsaw on Monday, Thursday, Friday, and Sunday mornings, with return departures from Malaga in the afternoon. With this addition, LOT aims to meet rising demand from Polish travellers for sun-filled destinations, while strengthening ties between Poland and southern Spain.
Malaga, the vibrant capital of the Costa del Sol, has long captivated visitors with its rich history, Mediterranean charm, and temperate climate—boasting over 300 days of sunshine annually. The city offers a blend of ancient Roman heritage, such as the Teatro Romano, and Moorish influence at the Alcazaba Fortress. As the birthplace of Pablo Picasso, Malaga also draws art lovers from around the world, with the Museo Picasso Málaga showcasing a vast collection of the artist’s works. With this new connection, LOT invites travellers to experience both the cultural depth and relaxed seaside ambiance of Andalusia.
In addition to its historical and artistic appeal, Malaga is a culinary hotspot where Andalusian flavours come to life. From traditional tapas and fresh seafood like espetos de sardinas to sweet Moscatel wines, the local gastronomy is a treat for the senses. The region’s famed beaches, many of which are Blue Flag certified, offer ideal settings for sunbathing and swimming, including the popular La Malagueta and scenic La Caleta. Tickets for the new Warsaw–Malaga route are now available via LOT’s official sales channels, making it easier than ever for travellers to enjoy southern Spain’s warmth and hospitality year-round.
