LATAM Airlines has inaugurated a new nonstop route between Brussels and São Paulo, becoming the only airline to offer direct flights between Belgium and Brazil. The service will operate three times a week (Tuesdays, Thursdays and Sundays) using Boeing 787-9 aircraft with 300 seats.
The new connection gives travellers from Belgium access to LATAM’s extensive South American network via São Paulo, with onward links to more than 135 destinations across countries including Brazil, Chile, Peru, Colombia, Ecuador, Argentina and Uruguay.
For Brussels Airport, the route marks a significant milestone as the airport’s first direct passenger service to Latin America in more than 25 years. Airport CEO Arnaud Feist highlighted its importance in strengthening Brussels’ intercontinental network and positioning the airport as a gateway between Europe and South America.
The service will also boost cargo transport, adding capacity for over 100 tonnes of freight per week, particularly for high-value goods such as pharmaceuticals.
With the addition of Brussels, LATAM now operates direct flights from ten European cities, further expanding its presence in the European market.
