KLM’s traffic figures improved in May. The airline welcomed 4.6% more passengers on board than in the same month last year. With revenue passenger kilometres up 2.6% and available seat kilometres up 1.6%, the load factor increased by 0.9% compared to May last year. The growth in passenger traffic was mainly driven by destinations in Europe, North Africa, North America and Asia.

“In May, our traffic figures were somewhat better than in the same month last year. Results were positive across our entire operation and slightly better than in previous months. In view of rising costs and pressure on revenues, cost-saving remains our priority. This will enable us to keep investing in the quality of our product, our people and our sustainability objectives.”

Pieter Elbers – KLM President & CEO
