KLM launches scheduled service to Bogotá and Cali in Colombia

Share

Summary

KLM Royal Dutch Airlines will today start operating service to Colombia three times a week, operating a Boeing 777-200 with an ultra-modern interior, under flight number KL745. The flight will land in Bogotá and then in Cali, before returning directly to Amsterdam. The flights will be operated on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays.

“We are pleased to resume scheduled service between Amsterdam and Bogotá after a twenty-year break, and that we have now added Cali to our network. This new KLM service will be a welcome addition for our passengers. Following my expectations, about 60,000 passengers a year will use the new KLM service between Amsterdam and Colombia. Both cities offer a wealth of superb historical sites. Furthermore, Colombia is strengthening its business relations with Europe, and particularly with the Netherlands. The inaugural flight will be operated with a Boeing 777-200 equipped with a fully renovated interior and a state-of-the-art Inflight Entertainment System. The renovation of fifteen Boeing 777-200s is scheduled for completion around the end of 2015.”
Pieter Elbers, KLM President & CEO

KLM is not for the first time in its history in Bogotá. From October 1992 through March 1995, KLM operated flights to the Colombian capital already. With the addition of the new service to Bogotá and Cali, KLM now serves eleven destinations in Latin America and expanded its network to a total of 67 intercontinental destinations.

About Colombia
Colombia is one of South America’s fastest growing economies. Bogotá is Colombia’s capital and offers a full range of the country’s finest features.

Cali is located near Colombia’s “coffee triangle” and is the ideal place for tourism and recreation. The capital of Valle del Cauca Province has blossomed into a popular tourist destination. Cali is also considered the capital of salsa.

AIR FRANCE KLM
In addition to the new direct KLM services between Amsterdam and Colombia, passengers can fly to and from Bogotá and Cali seven times a week with AIR FRANCE via Paris Charles de Gaulle, or with Copa Airlines via Panama City, connecting with KLM’s daily service between Amsterdam and Panama.

The AIR FRANCE KLM Group serves 15 destinations in Central and South America departing from Amsterdam Airport Schiphol and Paris Charles de Gaulle: São Paulo, Rio de Janeiro, Panama City, Lima, Buenos Aires, Santiago de Chile and Bogotá (all served by both KLM and Air France), Quito, Guayaquil, Paramaribo and Cali (served by KLM), and Brasilia, Caracas, Cayenne and Montevideo (served by Air France).
