Kenya Airways partners with TUI to relaunch KQ Holidays and boost year-round tourism

Kenya Airways has teamed up with TUI Airline Holidays to relaunch KQ Holidays, a revamped travel platform designed to position Kenya as a premier year-round destination.

Announced in Nairobi on 2 March 2026, the partnership combines Kenya Airways’ global route network with TUI’s expertise in curated holiday solutions. The new KQ Holidays platform offers an integrated booking experience, allowing customers to bundle flights, premium accommodation, transfers and locally curated experiences into dynamic, tailor-made packages.

A key feature of the relaunch is the ability for transit passengers connecting through Nairobi to add stopovers in Kenya as part of a single coordinated booking. The initiative aims to transform layovers into immersive short stays, encouraging travellers to explore the country’s wildlife, coastline and cultural attractions before continuing to their final destination.

According to Julius Thairu, Kenya Airways’ Chief Commercial and Customer Officer, the relaunch represents a strategic move to diversify revenue streams while enhancing customer value beyond air travel. The platform is also positioned as a vehicle to promote sustainable tourism, authentic local engagement and positive economic impact for communities across Kenya.

Powered by TUI’s white-label technology, KQ Holidays provides real-time inventory management and personalised travel options, enabling customers to book standalone services or bundled packages based on their preferences.

For TUI, the agreement marks a further expansion into the African market. Danyal Kaya, Head of Specialist Businesses at TUI, said the collaboration would allow Kenya Airways to unlock additional revenue opportunities while offering distinctive, experience-driven travel products.

With the relaunch of KQ Holidays, Kenya Airways is seeking to strengthen Kenya’s appeal as a seamless, sustainable and experience-led destination for international travellers throughout the year.
