On 29 March, a Kalitta Air Boeing 747 (N740CK) departed Brussels Airport for a cargo flight towards Cincinatti, U.S. About two minutes after take-off, however, the aircraft encountered a compressor stall on engine number four. Forum member BigJets witnessed loud bangs as the aircraft passed above Meise, just North of Brussels.
According to flightradar24-data, the 29-year-old aircraft stopped climbing at 7,000 feet and headed to the North Sea where it entered a holding pattern to dump and burn fuel to reduce its landing weight.
The aircraft passed again over Brussels and diverted to the airport of Leipzig, Germany.
