JetBlue resumed normal operations early Tuesday after requesting a temporary nationwide ground stop from the Federal Aviation Administration due to an internal IT outage.
The ground stop, affecting all destinations and facilities, was in place from 12:35 a.m. to 1:30 a.m. ET. The FAA said the airline asked to pause departures overnight while the system issue was addressed. Flights already in the air were generally allowed to continue to their destinations.
JetBlue confirmed that the brief system outage has been resolved and operations have returned to normal.
The incident adds to a series of recent technology-related disruptions in the airline industry, including a systemwide outage at Alaska Airlines that grounded flights in October and a separate technology issue that caused delays at American Airlines in June.
