On 17 February 2026, a crew member on a JetBlue flight (B6 2010, Airbus A321neo reg. N4077J) from Los Angeles to Palm Beach made a pro-Trump remark during an in-flight Presidents’ Day announcement.
During the greeting, the employee thanked President Donald Trump and his cabinet “for all that they do.” Passenger accounts differ on whether the statement was made by the pilot or a flight attendant. One passenger later reported being told it was the lead flight attendant’s decision.
The announcement triggered backlash on social media. Photographer James Weir publicly criticised the comment, calling it inappropriate political speech and stating it would be his last time flying the airline. Other users echoed concerns and suggested boycotts.
The incident was reported by outlets including Raw Story and Times Now. As of the initial coverage, JetBlue had not issued a formal public statement.
There is no indication that the announcement reflected official airline policy; reporting characterises it as an isolated event tied to the holiday rather than a recurring or company-endorsed practice.
