Jet Airways officially launches flights from Amsterdam Schiphol

Share

Jet Airways on Sunday launched its flights to/from Amsterdam Airport Schiphol. From now on, Jet Airways will fly daily non-stop to Mumbai, Delhi and Toronto. Schiphol has today become the European hub of the Indian carrier.

The Airbus A330-300 will be deployed on the three routes. Jet Airways has signed a codeshare agreement with KLM and Delta Air Lines. This means that the Indian carrier’s passengers can connect to 30 European destinations and 11 destinations in the United States and Canada. Passengers flying to Mumbai or Delhi can switch to Jet Airways flights to 48 destinations in India and the rest of Asia.

Previously, Brussels Airport was the European hub of Jet Airways, but last December it was announced that the operation would be moved to Schiphol as from the summer schedule. This decision is independent of the terrorist attacks at Brussels Airport. Because of the attacks, this Sunday’s festivities around the first flight of Jet Airways to Schiphol have been cancelled.

Last Thursday Jet Airways already sent three A330s to Schiphol to bring passengers stranded in Brussels to their final destination. These A330s were ferried empty from Brussels to the Amsterdam airport.
