Russia’s Federal Air Transport Agency (Rosaviatsiya) has revoked the Air Operator Certificate (AOC) of regional carrier Izhavia, forcing the airline to suspend all commercial passenger flights.
According to the regulator, the decision follows repeated safety violations and the airline’s failure to address deficiencies identified during inspections. Without a valid AOC, Izhavia is no longer permitted to operate scheduled passenger services or sell airline tickets.
Rosaviatsiya said approximately 46,000 passengers holding bookings through early 2027 will be accommodated on flights operated by other Russian airlines, including Aeroflot, S7 Airlines, Red Wings and Nordwind.
Izhavia, based in Izhevsk, primarily operated domestic services within Russia using a fleet of Yakovlev Yak-42 aircraft and more recently the Sukhoi Superjet 100. The airline has been operating since 1992 and was one of the country’s remaining regional carriers.
