A flight from Tel Aviv to Bucharest ended in chaos after a violent brawl erupted among passengers on board. The incident occurred last weekend on a HelloJets Airbus A320 (registered YR-RAM) operating on behalf of Israeli carrier Israir.
According to Romanian media, the confrontation quickly escalated into a mass fight involving around 30 passengers. Video footage shared online shows shouting, pushing, and passengers exchanging blows while crew members attempted to restore order.
Upon arrival at Henri Coanda International Airport (Otopeni), Romanian border police and gendarmes boarded the aircraft to intervene. Several passengers were taken for questioning, and seven individuals received administrative fines of 4,000 lei each (around €800).
Authorities described the situation as a “spontaneous conflict” that broke out mid-flight. Some reports suggest the argument started when a group of passengers began praying, which provoked others and led to the confrontation.
No passengers or crew members were seriously injured, but the disruptive behaviour caused delays during disembarkation. The airline confirmed it is cooperating with Romanian authorities in the ongoing investigation.
