Aeroplane makes emergency landing in Canary Islands due to pilot illness

On Sunday morning (1 September), Vueling flight VY3162 (Airbus A320 reg. EC-MJB) en route from Santiago de Compostela to Gran Canaria made an emergency landing at the Canary Islands airport due to the pilot’s sudden illness.

The control tower, prioritising the flight, provided a direct approach to Las Palmas runway 03L. The aircraft landed safely, and medical personnel were on standby to assist the ailing pilot.

The pilot’s condition has not been disclosed.
