On 17 February, passengers aboard LEVEL flight LL/IB2623 from Barcelona to Los Angeles (Airbus A330-200 reg. EC-ODA) were treated to an unexpected in-flight concert at 35,000 feet, as members of the Orfeó Català delivered a live choral performance mid-air.
Approximately 150 singers were travelling to California for a landmark moment in the choir’s history: its U.S. debut with the Los Angeles Philharmonic under the direction of Gustavo Dudamel, performing Beethoven’s Missa Solemnis at the Walt Disney Concert Hall.
The flight also featured themed headrests celebrating the Orfeó Català and the Palau de la Música Catalana, reinforcing the symbolic nature of the trip as a prelude to the ensemble’s milestone performances in Los Angeles. Members of the Palau de la Música Chamber Choir were also part of the delegation.
With the initiative, LEVEL underscored its support for cultural exchange and Barcelona’s international artistic projection, leveraging its transatlantic network to help showcase Catalan talent in key North American markets.
