Iberia has announced the launch of a new route connecting Madrid and Monterrey, expanding its presence in Mexico, one of the airline’s most strategic markets. The direct flights will begin on 2 June 2026, operating three times per week — on Tuesdays, Fridays, and Saturdays — with departures from Madrid at 13:10 and arrivals in Monterrey at 17:05 the same day. Return flights will leave Monterrey at 18:35, landing in Madrid at 13:05 the following day.
The route will be served by an Airbus A330-200, a modern wide-body aircraft with 288 seats split between Business and Economy cabins. Flights will operate from Terminal A at Monterrey International Airport.
With this addition, Iberia will offer more than 800,000 seats between Spain and Mexico in 2026 — the highest capacity to any Latin American market in its network. This includes the airline’s three daily flights to Mexico City, operated year-round with Airbus A350 aircraft, and the new Monterrey service, which will initially run during the European summer and extend into the winter season.
María Jesús López Solás, Iberia’s Director of Sales, Customers, Network and Alliances, said:
“We are reinforcing our commitment to such an important, strategic, and beloved market as Mexico. The new Monterrey route, together with our Mexico City flights, represents a historic level of connectivity between our two countries.”
The new Madrid–Monterrey service strengthens Iberia’s leadership in transatlantic travel, offering greater choice and convenience for business and leisure passengers travelling between Europe and northern Mexico.
