Iberia renews handling contract with Air Nostrum in more than 20 Spanish airports

  • Barcelona and Jerez airports are included in the new contract as Iberia has won ramp handling licenses there.
  • Last year Iberia Airport Services provided airport handling services to more than six millions passengers and 59,000 flights of Air Nostrum.
  •  Iberia’s handling unit was recently awarded licenses to provide services to third-party airlines in 17 of the 20 Spanish airports for which it applied.

Handling services include loading and unloading of aircraft, refuelling, cleaning, etc.

Iberia Airport Services and Iberia’s franchise partner Air Nostrum have agreed on the terms of a renewal of their airport handling service contract.
The Iberia handling unit will serve Air Nostrum’s passengers and aircraft at 22 Spanish airports, including Jerez and Barcelona for the first time.
Iberia Airport was recently awarded licences to provide handling services to third-party airlines for the next seven years at Jerez and Barcelona airports, along with 15 more of the 20 for which it bid. Handling services include loading and unloading of aircraft, refuelling, cleaning, etc.,
New handling licenses
Other airports where Iberia will handle a significant number of Air Nostrum flights are Madrid, Alicante, Malaga, Majorca and Minorca. Last year Iberia Airport Services served more than six million passenger and 59,000 flights of Air Nostrum.
Iberia Airport Services is now licensed to provide handling services to third-party airlines at the airports of Albacete, Badajoz, Córdoba, Granada, Jerez, La Palma, and Melilla, as well as the larger ones (with more than one million passengers/year) of Madrid, Barcelona, Palma de Majorca, Malaga, Alicante, Asturias, Bilbao, Gerona, Minorca, Reus, Santiago de Compostela, Tenerife Norte, Tenerife Sur, Ibiza and Gran Canaria.
