International Airlines Group (IAG) announced a major connectivity upgrade across its five airlines — Aer Lingus, British Airways, Iberia, LEVEL, and Vueling — through a new partnership with Starlink to deliver high-speed in-flight Wi-Fi.
The rollout is scheduled to begin in early 2026, making IAG the European airline group with the largest fleet of high-speed Wi–Fi–equipped aircraft. More than 500 short- and long-haul aircraft will receive the Starlink system, providing passengers with download and upload speeds comparable to home broadband, enabling seamless streaming, gaming, and cloud-based work.
IAG CEO Luis Gallego said:
“Staying connected in the skies is increasingly important to our airlines’ customers. The introduction of high-speed Wi-Fi from Starlink will transform onboard connectivity, improving both the connection speed and reliability for customers.”
The move is part of IAG’s Group-wide innovation strategy, which also includes investments in AI-driven maintenance optimisation and the IAGi venturing fund supporting aviation technology startups.
