On Friday 9 February a British Airways Boeing 777-200ER (G-VIIG) from London Heathrow to Bosten Logan as BA213 declared a “pan-pan” emergency due to smoke on the flight deck, around 1 hour and 30 minutes into the flight. According to people listening to the air traffic control, the pilots were wearing their oxygen masks while diverting to Shannon Airport in Ireland. The smoke disappeared after landing and the aircraft taxied to its gate at the Irish airport.
