British Airways has announced two special Avios-Only services for the October 2026 half-term holiday, offering members of the airline’s loyalty programme the choice between a sunny getaway to Tenerife or a Northern Lights adventure in Reykjavík.
The exclusive flights, available only to members of The British Airways Club, will operate from London Heathrow to Tenerife from 24–31 October and to Reykjavík from 25 October–1 November. Every seat on these flights can be booked using Avios points.
Return fares start at 33,500 Avios plus £5 in economy (Euro Traveller) or 60,000 Avios plus £40 in business class (Club Europe), with checked baggage included.
Introduced in 2023, Avios-Only flights dedicate an entire aircraft to reward-seat bookings, making it easier for loyalty members to redeem points during peak travel periods. British Airways has operated more than 50 such services to destinations across Europe, the Caribbean, Africa and the Middle East.
The airline highlighted Tenerife’s warm climate and beach resorts as well as Reykjavík’s geothermal attractions and potential Northern Lights viewing as key draws for the October school holiday period.
Members can also use Companion Vouchers from eligible British Airways American Express cards, allowing a second passenger to travel without additional Avios or enabling solo travellers to receive a 50% Avios discount. Avios can also be redeemed toward hotel stays booked through British Airways Holidays.
In addition to these special flights, British Airways continues to guarantee a minimum number of reward seats on all regular services, reinforcing its commitment to expanding redemption opportunities for loyalty programme members.
