British Airways flight BA1410 from London Heathrow to Belfast declared a general emergency mid-flight on Saturday, July 26, prompting a diversion to Manchester Airport.
The Airbus A319 registered G-EUPG transmitted a squawk 7700 emergency code about 30 minutes after takeoff, reportedly due to a potential cabin pressure issue caused by a faulty sensor.
The aircraft circled before landing safely in Manchester, where it was met by emergency crews. All passengers were evacuated while British Airways technicians conducted a full inspection. A replacement aircraft (Airbus A320neo registered G-TTNA) was arranged, with passengers facing delays of around three hours.
Under UK passenger rights laws, affected travellers may be entitled to compensation if the issue is deemed the airline’s responsibility.
